Its a date!!! Victoria's Secret will open its first UK store, on London's Bond Street, on July 25. The following day will see the launch of the brand's Westfield Stratford store, just in time for the Olympic opening ceremony on July 27. The Angels will almost certainly be in town en masse for the launch - with even new mother Alessandra Ambrosio hoping to be there.
"Refused" He may be a juror at the Cannes Film Festival now, but designer Jean Paul Gaultier has revealed that there was a time when he couldn't even get in to the prestigious event. "I have been refused at the Festival de Cannes," he told the Today show. "Yes! First time, I was in a tuxedo but with shorts. Black. And second time I was with a kilt with tuxedo. Refused again. But the third time, I came with Madonna - I was in bed with Madonna... she was like my passport, so I got through it." The weekend saw the most star-packed events so far - including Giorgio Armani and Sean Penn's charity ball in aid of Haiti. Diane Kruger, Cheryl Cole, Gemma Arterton, Natasha Poly, Petra Nemcova, Sean Penn, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Douglas Booth, Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Jane Fonda, Bernice Bejo, Ewan McGregor and Lily Cole all stepped out in their couture finest to celebrate cinema's biggest achievements.
New store? Victoria has plans to open her first standalone store in London. "People say, 'Am I going to have my own store?' I would love to," she said. "That's what I'm working on at the moment. It would probably be in London, but in the not-too-distant future maybe it will be Hong Kong. Who knows?" She says that she has her sights set on expansion in the eastern markets, as well as in the UK and the US. "What I do really is not just focus on the US or England," she toldCNN. "I mean there are a lot of territories that are really big for me and Asia is very exciting. I'm just scratching the surface at the moment. I want take baby steps with this business; I don't want to run before I can walk."
Shes not on the list? Kate Moss is not to be included in a Walk of Fame built in her home town, Croydon, may have come as a shock - but you can change that by voting for her. The supermodel, unarguably the town's best-known export, is currently not included in the 10 shortlisted names compiled by civic leaders.

Ford, who also owns properties in New York, Los Angeles and New Mexico but spends most of his time in London, bought the 8,222 square-foot Georgian townhouse in 2004 for £5.75 million. Three years ago, the Sunday Times reports, he placed it back on the market - presumably improved markedly by his taste and attention to design detail for £45 million, but failed to find a buyer. He has since been spotted house hunting in South Kensington.

The sale of the brand and assets includes the UK stores, concessions and head office operations. Designer Surgeon Tom Ford, has been baring his soul at the 92Y talk in New York. The designer admitted that, if he weren't a designer, he would like to be doing something more medically inclined. "In another life I would love to be a cosmetic surgeon because it's architectural," Ford said. "You know, you are trying to figure out where the seams go. Can I do it in one piece like Halston? Can you formaldehyde DNA? A man can't have a facelift very well because they cut here and then you have your sideburns in your ear. I quite like my beard. There is this little gap here. I am always looking to see who's got the hairs growing out of the side of the ears." As well as noting that he'd love to marry his long-time love Richard Buckley and have children while he's still "able to pick them up," Ford also reflected on his past - talking candidly about the unfriendly letters he received from Yves Saint Laurent, and why he brought Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen into the Gucci Group fold. "He was very friendly at first," Ford said of Yves Saint Laurent,WWD reports. "We knew each other and he very much wanted me to design the collection. As things started to go well and we started to get good reviews, he was no longer my friend. I actually have some wonderful handwritten letters, very beautiful handwriting. 'In 13 minutes, you have destroyed what I have worked for for 40 years.' I didn't take it very well while he was alive. He was very pointed about me in the press. I haven't seen or talked to Pierre [Bergé] since then, but I have to say one of the reasons I wanted to work at Yves Saint Laurent is that, like most people, I was an incredible fan. I was a little devastated that he felt that way, but then our sales were great, our reviews were great and more and more people were wearing our clothes." "I took my job very seriously," he said of his time at Gucci Group, now PPR. "I was a good corporate soldier. When François Pinault invested $3.3 billion in our company, I was the only creative designer and I thought it was very important that I was not the only creative designer sitting in this company. So I thought, 'All right, who do I admire, who has potential and who doesn't conflict?'"
No Mothers day Christy Turlington Burns won't be celebrating Mother's Day this Sunday with the rest of the US, as a mark of respect and a statement of solidarity to mothers all over the world less fortunate than herself. The supermodel conceived the initiative - called No Mother's Day - with her charity Every Mother Counts to highlight the plight of mothers who have lost their lives unnecessarily. "No Mother's Day is a social issue campaign - unveiled at a time when people are thinking about their mums the most - to help raise awareness about a global tragedy that takes the lives of 358,000 mothers every year," Turlington Burns said today. "The cornerstone of the campaign is a social issue film that features mums encouraging other mums to join in solidarity by disappearing on May 13, US Mother's Day. No emails, no phone calls, no social media - because we believe that sometimes 'our silence can speak the loudest for all mothers'. We know that this act of solidarity alone won't save lives, but it will raise awareness and that's the first step in making a change."WATCH THE FILM HERE
